In many companies, NC programming is performed by entering the data directly into the bending machine. However, it is cheaper to outsource the programming to the production planning department and then hand over the finished NC programs to production in digital format. This reduces machine downtimes even further. SPI interfaces for TRUMPF and WiCAM can be integrated into the "sheet metal process chain" to facilitate close cooperation between design, production planning and manufacturing.
In other words, SPI bridges the design and work preparation phases in the "sheet metal process chain". Utilise the parameters used in local production! This simplifies design and work preparation, minimises errors and saves time. Unfold interfaces are - among others - available for WiCAM and TRUMPF.

 

SPI TruTops Interface 

The SPI TruTops interface makes it possible to read material and bending process information, including bending factors and production radii, directly into the SPI SheetMetal program's materials database and use it during construction. The bending tools defined in TruTops Bend can consequently be determined as early as the modelling phase. This makes the production radii generated during the bending process available during construction. The unfolding is developed in a manner compatible with the TruTops NC program and contains all the process data required for the bending process. It can be read directly into TruTops. All the bending information relating to the part or assembly used during the construction phase then becomes available here, eliminating the need to repeatedly enter technological data and consequently minimising the risk of error. This type of unfolding can be used directly for simulation and NC code programming with TruTops Bend during the work preparation process.

SPI WiCAM Interface 

Every sheet metal constructor knows that no blank can be bent at any inner radius. The value of this radius depends for example on the material and tools used. Shortening factors therefore have to flow into calculations of the blank's "flat length". SPI's WiCAM interface facilitates the direct export of unfolding geometry into an XML file that can subsequently be used by the WiCAM company's PN4000 software. With this interface, SPI makes it possible to use the unfolding data directly for CAM programming via PN4000 by providing specific geometrical and production-related data for the unfolding process.
